No more concepts (read it please!)

Well this is a journal about something that happened to my life.

Some weeks ago a newspaper changed all my thinks and concepts.
It was about a town... look: [link]
If you're from Brazil I think that you might think it is São Paulo or some other big city from Brazil.
NO. It is Maputo... the capital of Mozambique.
When you think about Mozambique what comes to your mind? Lions... hungry people, poverty? That's what I thought too. This journal means a lot for me... and it will mean a lot for Brazilians, Latin Americans and Africans, I'm sure of it.
Why do we have stereotypes... We don't know anything. I
would judge someone from Africa because we have grown up thinking that they live in poverty there and everybody's hungry.
And people could be exactly like you there.

The real subject of it all it is to not judge them 1st. As the same of what happens to Latin Americans like me.
But I can look and be like an European or North American...
Have you ever thought that other nations can think about you as the same way as you think about an African? And that you could be wrong as the same way as they are about you.

When you go to school, when you watch t.v. or read a magazine, there are many people trying to give you some wrong ideas about the world so you can think the way they want you to think.
The world want you to think this way so they can control your mind.

This is the best sentence I've ever read about it, wrote by :icongermanshepherddog: :

In Portuguese: "A gente aprende a idéia errada e erramos ao passarmos adiante. Feliz é aquele que procura entender melhor e saber analisar as diferenças."
and
In English: " We learn the wrong idea and we are being wrong giving the wrong idea. Happy is the one who tries to understands it right and who knows how to understand differences."

=)
thanks for reading it  Bamiotto

Yup, i was thinking about it too.
And i agree with you completely.
I saw some blogs, and some things in internet from Mozabique and i must say i was surprised, cause i just saw that Mozambique teens wearing clothes like we do, in Europe, Americas. They like parties, to meet friends go to malls, etc.

I was thinking about me too, maybe i could born as black girl in Uganda, maybe asian, etc. And what ppl in richer ciuntries can think about my place, poland.

I don't judge ppl, that has no sense.

My thoughts about it are the same as you have.

yeah...that's so true
i used to think africa was made up entirely of like deserts, emaciated people, jungles and plains..sure it was when i was little but still, i hate ever thinking that because it's so degrading.
people are people no matter what place they call home.

That's right. The same things happen in all over the world. In every country there are a lot of rich and poor people. Not even, for example in mozambique. Its a global problem.

There, in Poland there a lot of hungry and poor people too. The biggest problem is unemployment.

Thats a relly good note:) Cherrs! :)
